PasteWand Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the PasteWand website, account service, desktop application, AI editing service, and desktop downloads.

Availability

PasteWand is available to everyone on macOS. Features, limits, supported formats, model providers, and availability may change as the product evolves.

Text, regular files, and directories use the same agent flow. Copied text is limited to 128 KiB. File and directory capture accepts up to 100 selected roots, 20,000 regular files, or 1 GiB of input; review accepts up to 2,000 changed files or 1 GiB of output. Symbolic links and special files are refused. Other limits may be enforced to protect the device and service.

Optional account

You do not need a PasteWand account to use a directly configured AI provider. If you choose PasteWand Cloud, you are responsible for your account credentials, connected devices, and activity performed through them. Notify us if you believe a device or account has been compromised. You may revoke desktop devices from account settings.

Do not share access tokens or downloads in a way that bypasses access controls.

AI editing

AI results can be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe, or unsuitable. Review every diff before applying it. You remain responsible for the content you submit and the changes you approve.

PasteWand will not intentionally apply a result before confirmation. Agent tools run with root, shell, network, and package-install access only inside a disposable local VM. The VM receives a private copy of the scope you authorize, not mounted host originals or the rest of the host filesystem. Tool calls modify staging files and do not modify originals. A source conflict, provider failure, incomplete result, or failed target verification prevents automatic write-back. You are responsible for selecting an AI provider and reviewing that provider's terms, model behavior, and data practices.

Your content

You retain your rights in content submitted for editing. For a direct-provider edit, PasteWand does not receive the request; your relationship with that provider governs its processing. When you select PasteWand Cloud, you grant PasteWand and its managed service providers a limited right to process the content only as needed to provide and secure the requested edit.

Do not submit content that you do not have the right to process or content whose disclosure to a cloud AI provider would violate law, contract, confidentiality, or policy. Everything copied into the authorized scope may be read by Agent tools and sent to your selected model provider, including hidden files, so inspect the scope and exclude secrets before authorizing it.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• Use PasteWand to break the law or violate another person's rights
• Probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass security and rate limits
• Reverse engineer hosted authorization, quota, or update-signing systems
• Use automated access outside the documented desktop application
• Distribute malware or deceptive content through the service

PasteWand Cloud credits and limits

These credits and limits apply only when PasteWand Cloud is selected. Direct-provider usage and charges are governed by your provider account. PasteWand Cloud usage may be provided through promotional credits. One credit represents up to 1,000 combined input and output tokens, with a minimum charge of one credit per successful request.

PasteWand may reserve credits before a request and settle actual usage afterward. Failed or canceled requests release the reservation. Rate limits and concurrency limits may change to protect reliability and fair access.

Promotional credits have no cash value and may expire.

Downloads and updates

Production desktop builds are distributed through PasteWand-controlled download channels. Do not install modified or unsigned packages presented as official PasteWand releases.

Automatic updates require a valid signed update manifest. Operating-system signing and notarization reduce risk but do not eliminate it.

Local files and backups

PasteWand checks every file Hash before replacement and restores a backup only when all files in that undo group still match the versions PasteWand wrote. One Agent workspace is applied and undone as a group. These protections do not replace your own backups or version control.

You are responsible for maintaining backups of important files.

Intellectual property

PasteWand, its visual identity, website, application code, and service components are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, security risk, legal requirements, nonpayment after commercial plans launch, or material violation of these terms. You may stop using PasteWand and delete your account at any time.

Service changes

We may change or discontinue beta features, providers, quotas, supported operating systems, or download channels. We will try to provide reasonable notice for material changes when practical.

Disclaimer

The beta is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, PasteWand disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and uninterrupted operation.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PasteWand is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost content, profits, revenue, or business opportunity.

Governing terms

Local consumer law may give you rights that these terms cannot exclude. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
